Date: Thursday 6 - Friday 7 November 2014
Venue: Park Ballroom (5F), Conrad Hotel, Seoul, Korea
Word of Invitation
Technological progress and globalization have had a profound impact on shaping the industrial landscape of the global economy. The transition to service economy and the digitalization of business activities have blurred the boundary between nations and between manufacturing and service industries. In tandem, the emergence of new technologies and industries has been accelerated by disruptive innovation, opening a new era of so-called new industrial revolution. These changes pose new challenges for governments in formulating economic and industrial policies as well as for businesses in devising corporate strategies. Korean government has recognized such challenges and, has proposed creative economy as the core national agenda to respond to changes in the economic structure of the world economy.
Against this backdrop, 2014 International Forum on Industrial Innovation and Service Sector Advancement will be jointly held by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, the Korea Development Institute and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute to share information on policy practices and business strategies of countries around the world and to seek future directions for national industrial development strategy. The forum will cover fundamental tenets of industrial economies such as transformation of global industrial structures and their causes, experiences of major countries regarding industrialization, corporate responses to the convergence of manufacturing and services and emergence of new technologies and industrial development. In particular, special session is devoted to biotechnology start-ups, an industry rapidly gaining recognition as a new engine of growth, in which experts will present exemplary overseas cases. Leading experts at home and abroad will impart valuable insight into the global industry as well as share their thoughts about corporate strategy.
In this spirit, we cordially invite you to join us in this timely event, and look forward to your invaluable contribution.
