KDI Seminar
Towards an Innovative and Inclusive Korea

May 09, 2019(Thu)

Greetings
In 2018, the Korean economy marked an important milestone in its development by surpassing two key indicators including a GNI per capita of $30,000 dollars and a population of 50 million, becoming only the 7th country to join the “30-50 club.”

The prosperity Korea has been able to achieve is a testimony of the nation’s miraculous economic ascent from poverty and the devastation of war.

As Korea’s economy continues to advance, many challenges and policy decisions lie ahead. A key challenge in the future will be promoting an innovation-driven economy and making sure that the benefits of growth are inclusive.  This means creating a fair and equitable economic environment and focusing on policies that improve the quality of life.

With this in mind, KDI is organizing an international conference to discuss how Korea can become a more innovative-driven and inclusive economy by inviting leading scholars and experts from Korea and abroad.  We hope that this conference will serve as a platform for discussing new policy ideas and sharing lessons and insights from advanced countries on promoting innovation and inclusive growth.  We look forward to your participation.
