Main Tasks
  • Division of Public Investment Evaluation
    • The division contributes to improving the efficiency and soundness of fiscal management through ex ante and ex post feasibility studies on large public investment projects
    • PFS Unit 1 conducts preliminary feasibility studies for large-scale public investment projects such as economic infrastructure including transportation, railway, port, etc.
    • PFS Unit 2 conducts preliminary feasibility studies for large-scale public investment projects such as social infrastructure including construction or culture project as well as non-infrastructure project including R&D and social security program, etc.
    • RSF Unit conducts reassessment feasibility study, re-assesses project plan, and re-analyzes demand forecast under TPCM to improve intermediate evaluation
  • Division of Public-Private Partnerships
    • The division supports implementation and management of PPP projects, providing comprehensive support for competent authorities in implementing PPP projects
    • Project assessment Unit conducts evaluation for solicited and unsolicited proposals, provides technical support for the implementation of PPP projects in areas as VFM test, project evaluations
    • Project implementation Unit provides consultation services on legal issues relating to procurement of public investment projects, reviews RFP
    • Project management Unit conducts preliminary reviews and provides technical support on reviewing refinancing proposals, MRG
  • Division of Policy and Research
    • Policy research Unit analyzes global trends, provides capacity building programs, maintains network with international organizations
    • Public Entity Project Evaluation Unit conducts preliminary feasibility studies on large-scale investment projects of public institutions
    • Tax Expenditure Evaluation Unit conducts preliminary feasibility studies on taxation, in-depth evaluations, system and analysis methodologies

Providing Economic Forecast and Macroeconomic Policy Direction, the Groundwork for a Brighter Future

The Department of Macroeconomics is conducting researches on the macro economy and macroeconomic policy, particularly focusing on suggesting the analysis of macroeconomic trends and current status of the economy at home and abroad, the economic forecast, and the policy direction of the macro economy. The Department is also in charge of establishing, sustaining and maintaining various econometric models, based on which it analyses policy effects and develops a long-term economic forecast.

  • Economic trend analysis, short- and long-term forecast
  • Policy study on macroeconomic management
  • Basic structural analysis on macroeconomic areas
  • Maintenance of multi-sectoral dynamic macroeconomic model
