- 숙박 및 음식점업 등의 대면업종을 중심으로 서비스업생산이 양호한 흐름을 이어간 가운데, 소매판매도 준내구재와 비내구재를 중심으로 증가세를 지속함.

○ 그러나 12월 들어 방역조치가 재차 강화되면서 소비를 중심으로 내수 여건이 제약되는 모습

- 강화된 방역조치가 시행되면서 소비자심리지수와 비제조업 업황BSI 전망지수가 하락하는 등 소비 관련 경제심리가 위축됨.

○ 대외적으로는 공급망 교란, 주요국의 통화정책 정상화 등이 경기 하방위험으로 작용할 가능성

- 세계 산업생산과 교역량이 정체되면서 수출의 증가폭이 점차 축소됨.

■ Despite its recent modest recovery, the Korean economy faces growing downside risks due to the re-tightening of the COVID-19 protocols and weakening external demand.

○ November’s production and consumption exhibited a recovery trend led by the service industry on the back of eased social distancing.

- Service production growth remained robust, led by in-person services such as accommodation and food services, while retail sales continued to rise, centering on semi-durable and non-durable goods.

○ However, domestic demand conditions for December appear constrained as the government re-tightened COVID-19 measures.

- As the government imposed stricter COVID-19 restrictions, CCSI and non-manufacturing BSI future tendency decreased, pointing to a contraction in economic sentiment related to consumption.

○ On the external side, supply chain disruptions and monetary policy normalization in major countries may pose downside risks to economic activity in Korea.

- As global industrial production and trade volume remain stagnant, Korea’s export growth is gradually decelerating.
