□ Germany defines ‘Industrie 4.0’ as digitizing manufacturing, and has prepared for the transition by utilizing new value chains and production networks.
 
○ For countries like Korea, who are heavily dependent on manufacturing, the transition to digital production will be the biggest change and challenge.
 
□ During the process of building Industry 4.0, Germany has adopted diverse policy measures related to SME support, international cooperation and regulatory framework in order to deal with the changes in industry.
 
○ Industrial structures and corporate conditions vary across the globe. Accordingly, each country should have its own strategy by capitalizing on its strengths.
