KDI와 미국 브루킹스연구소는 한국의 2010 G20의장국 수임과 관련하여, G20의 공고화를 위한 혁신방안에 대해 공동연구를 수행해 왔고, 그 결과 Toward the Consolidation of the G20: From Crisis Committee to Global Steering Committee라는 보고서를 출판하였다. 이 보고서는 G20이 세계경제협력을 위한 최상위 포럼으로서, 단순한 위기관리위원회가 아닌 글로벌 조정위원회로 거듭나기 위한 G20의 제도적, 정책적, 정치적 혁신방안을 다루고 있다. 이 보고서는 지난 9월 28~29 양일간 개최된 KDI-브루킹스연구소-동아일보 주최 G20 서울 국제심포지엄에서 논의된 내용을 바탕으로 하며 미국 브루킹스연구소의 Colin I. Bradford 박사와 KDI 국제개발협력센터 임원혁 정책연구실장이 공동편집하였다.

This book focuses on institutional, policy, and political innovations to make the G20 the bona fide premier forum for international economic cooperation rather than just a crisis management committee. It is hoped that the book will provide useful ideas for officials and experts and facilitate a larger public dialogue around the world, which will help generate momentum for the transformation of the G20 into a more inclusive, effective and enduring form of summitry.
