This paper is to address some of the main issues of
privatization under the scenario that unification between North
and South Korea is to proceed more or less in a peaceful and
orderly way. The focus is on the privatization of SOEs. As the
future prospects for North and South Korea`s economy at the
time of unification are still unclear at the present moment, only
the general directions as well as key issues for privatization can
be examined, leaving much room for further discussion.
