- Summary
-
This study tries to estimate the impact of attending autonomous private high schools on educational outcomes such as test scores of students and satisfaction levels of students and parents. Applying the value-added approach by Todd and Wolpin (2007) to longitudinal data on secondary students in Seoul, Korea from 2010 to 2013, this study finds that autonomous high schools improve both test scores and satisfaction levels by about 0.25~0.30 and 0.40~0.45 standard deviations, respectively, compared with regular (private or public) high schools.
