■ 최근 민간소비가 GDP에 비해 지속적으로 낮은 증가율을 보임에 따라 민간소비가 구조적으로 둔화되고 있을 가능성에 대한 우려 제기

■ 특히 우리나라는 고령화가 빠른 속도로 진행되고 있음에도 불구하고 평균소비성향이 감소하고 있는 추세임.

■ 본고에서는 지난 10년간의 가계동향조사 원자료를 이용하여 가구주 연령별 소득 및 소비 분포에 대해 분석하고, 고령화가 진행되고 있는 우리나라 가계의 소비행태에 대한 정책적 시사점을 도출하고자 함.

■ Concerns are being raised about the possibility that private consumption experiences a structural decline, as the growth of private consumption has been lower than that of GDP in recent years.

■ Even if Korea’s fast-growing aging population are considered, its average propensity to consume (APC)* is seen to be on the decline.

■ Using the raw data of the Survey over the past ten years, this report analyzed income and consumption distribution by householder age group and intended to draw policy implications about consumption patterns of aging Korean households.
