■ 최근 우리 경제는 서비스업이 개선되었으나 대외여건의 악화로 제조업은 정체되면서, 경기 회복세가 완만한 수준을 지속함.

○ 방역조치 해제의 영향이 점차 확대되며 대면서비스업을 중심으로 내수경기가 회복세를 지속함.

- 도소매업, 숙박 및 음식점업, 운수 및 창고업 등 방역조치 해제의 영향이 컸던 업종을 중심으로 서비스업생산의 증가폭이 확대됨.

- 고용시장도 대면서비스업을 중심으로 취업자 수 증가폭이 크게 확대되며 양호한 흐름을 이어감.

○ 그러나 지정학적 위험의 장기화와 주요국의 긴축기조 등 대외여건의 악화로 제조업이 정체되면서 경기 회복세를 제약하고 있음.

- 우리 경제의 성장세를 주도했던 반도체 등 ICT부문의 생산은 대외여건 악화로 감소세를 보임.

- 아울러 물가상승세가 크게 확대되면서 기업심리지수와 소비자심리지수가 비교적 큰 폭으로 하락하는 등 경제심리가 위축되는 모습

■ The Korean economy continues to recover at a moderate pace, as the service industry improves but the manufacturing industry weakens on worsening external conditions.

○ On the back of the growing impact of removing COVID-19 restrictions, the domestic economy continues its recovery, led by face-to-face services.

- Higher production growth was reported in face-to-face services driven by wholesale and retail trade, accommodation and food services, and transport and warehousing, most impacted by the lifting of restrictions.

- The labor market continued a favorable trend with huge gains in the number of employed persons, mainly in face-to-face services.

○ However, as manufacturing conditions remain stagnant due to weakening external conditions, such as prolonged geopolitical risks and tightening monetary stance in major countries, the pace of recovery is restricted.

- Production in the ICT sector, including semiconductors, which has been the driving force of Korea’s economic growth, continues to slide on worsening external conditions.

- Furthermore, rapidly rising inflation causes huge losses in both BSI and CCSI, hinting at a contraction in economic sentiment.
