Summary
■ Concerns are being raised over slow growth in the Korean economy, and productivity improvement gradually emerges as a significant factor for buffering the slow growth.

■ In this regard, assessing the degree of contribution of the slowed growth in the 2000s to the decrease in productivity growth would be of high importance as a basis in projecting the future growth of the Korean
economy.

■ Under this context, this paper intends to suggest potent assessments and policy implications by compiling and reviewing preceding studies on the productivity growth rates in the 2000s.
