The electronics industry is the leading manufacturing sector
in Korea, which has become the fifth largest producer of
electronics goods in the world. It will continue to remain a
strategically important industry in Korea as well as an engine of
growth for industrial production.

This paper addresses the challenges and opportunities facing
the Korean electronics industry, and the issues related to the
globalization of the Korean electronics firms, particularly in the
context of foreign direct investment.
