Amidst problems in our society that are difficult to solve including low-growth to the economic polarization, the demand for welfare is ever increasing due to the low-birth rate and aging society. In particular, the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic has been heightening employment insecurity and economic imbalances and has resulted in greater fiscal burden. Indeed, it is time to explore a welfare policy that is both growth-friendly and effective.
At this conference, outstanding scholars and experts from home and abroad including Professor Dani Rodrik at the Harvard University will gather to discuss policy framework for inclusive growth and examples of successful welfare models from other countries. Implications for the Korean economy will also be examined. The conference will become a place for in-depth discussions on how to establish new welfare state models that attain harmony between ‘solid growth, quality jobs, and sustainable welfare.’
We hope for your interest and participation.
