The Asia PPP Practitioners’ Network (APN) began in 2010, initially bringing together practitioners from PPP (Public-Private Partnership) units across Asia and the Pacific for training and capacity building. Over time, as PPP frameworks in different countries developed, APN meetings transformed into forums where the heads of PPP units could discuss major trends and issues in regional infrastructure investment, exchange best practices, and tackle challenges. In collaboration with PPP experts, academia, and international organizations, APN encourages peer learning and acts as an information hub for regional and global PPP networks.
APN this year aims to delve into the evolving landscape of PPPs, reflecting on past achievements, current challenges, and future opportunities. By gathering experts and practitioners, we will explore diverse facets of PPPs, focusing on sustainability, resilience, private capital mobilization, climate-smart development, and unsolicited project proposals. The sessions are designed to foster interactive discussions, share best practices, and provide actionable insights to enhance PPP frameworks and implementation.
The conference sessions will cover a wide array of topics including Korea's 30-year journey with PPPs, the integration of Quality Infrastructure Investment principles, private investment trends and regulatory reforms in low-and-middle-income countries, climate-smart solutions offered by ADB, and the advantages and challenges of unsolicited project proposals. Each session is curated to address key issues, present real-world case studies, and facilitate knowledge sharing among participants.
The 2024 APN is designed to be an interactive platform for all participants to engage in meaningful discussions, share their experiences, and learn from each other. Through these sessions, we aim to advance the knowledge and practice of PPPs, addressing the complexities and enhancing the impact of these partnerships for sustainable infrastructure development.
