KDI (headed by President Oh-Seok Hyun) in collaboration with KOICA, is planning to conduct 「Benchmarking of Trade and Investment Promotion Policy (Vietnam),」 and share Korea’s experiences on economic development with government officials from VIETRADE. |
- Now that Vietnam is almost finalizing its social and economic development for 2011 to 2020 and the 5-year national plan for 2011 to 2015, KDI finds it important to help the Vietnam government establish more rational policy and strategy for future economic development.

With a growing call for system improvement of the government and public institutions to promote Vietnam’s economic progress, now is the most urgent time to strengthen the basic policy development capacity of researchers and experts working in competent ministries and offices.

The workshop consists of a series of seminars on Korea’s trade investment promotion policy and site visits to institutions and industry facilities of relevance and interest. |
- Seminar themes include: ① Trade Policy and Economic Development; ② Foreign Direct Investment Policy and Korea’s Experience; ③ Plans of a Successful Free Economic Zone; ④ Global Integration and FTA: Korea’s Experience; ⑤ Korea’s Trade Policy under the WTO system; and many others.
- Also, site visits to Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority, POSCO, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Corporation (KOTRA), and Korea Industrial Complex Corporation are planned as a way to provide participants with opportunities to listen to opinions directly from policy fields.
